Terms and Conditions of Sale

Business to Business Transactions Only

www.nordstar.ie is operated by Nordstar (Registered Company No. NI671305), hereafter referred to as “Nordstar”, “we”, “us”, or “our”. All purchases made via our website, phone, email, or other communication channels are strictly Business to Business (B2B) transactions. We do not sell to consumers and our business model is not governed by consumer law, including the Consumer Contracts Regulations (formerly Distance Selling Regulations).

By placing an order, you confirm that you are purchasing on behalf of a business (e.g., sole trader, partnership, LLP, Ltd, PLC, etc.). All transactions are deemed commercial business contracts, and all items are sold as industrial or commercial equipment.

All prices listed are exclusive of VAT, which will be added at the prevailing rate at the time of invoicing.

Definitions

  • “Buyer”, “you”, “your”: Refers to the business purchasing goods from us.

  • “Nordstar”, “we”, “us”, “our”: Refers to Nordstar (NI671305).

  • “Order”: Refers to the purchase of goods or services from Nordstar.

Orders and Acceptance

Website Orders

Placing an order through www.nordstar.ie constitutes an offer to purchase under these terms. Orders are not binding until confirmed in writing via email. We reserve the right to reject or cancel any order prior to confirmation.

Telephone Orders

Telephone orders are subject to the same terms. Confirmation of an order constitutes acceptance of the contract.

You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of your order. If you require a VAT invoice, please email us at sales@nordstar.ie with your order number.

Payment

All orders must be paid in full before dispatch unless a credit facility has been agreed in writing by a company director. Accepted payment methods include bank transfer, credit/debit card, or PayPal. Where credit terms are offered, late payments may incur interest at 4% above base rate.

Goods remain the property of Nordstar until paid for in full. We retain full title to goods until all monies owed are settled.

Delivery

  • Standard Delivery: Free for orders over €300 net of VAT within ROI & NI. Orders below this threshold incur a flat rate of €15 + VAT.

  • Kerbside Delivery: All large items (over 25kg or palletised) are delivered to kerbside only. You must ensure suitable access and personnel to take the item inside.

  • Failed Deliveries: Redelivery charges will apply if no one is available at the delivery address or if access is refused.

  • Delivery Times: Typically between 1–5 working days depending on item and location. Special delivery arrangements (e.g., timed, two-man) may incur additional charges.

  • Damaged Items: Must be reported within 24 hours. Do not accept or sign for damaged goods. Signing “unchecked” invalidates claims.

Warranties & Faults

Unless stated otherwise, all products are sold without warranty or with parts-only warranty. Labour and engineer costs are not covered unless explicitly stated.

  • Any faults must be reported within 2 days of receipt to qualify for replacement or refund.

  • After 2 days, warranty terms apply.

  • Returned items must be securely packaged; damage in transit due to inadequate packaging voids any warranty or return.

  • Items sold below regular pricing, as “sale” or “internet-only” offers, or ex-display stock, are sold without warranty, unless confirmed otherwise in writing.

Warranty Exclusions Include (but are not limited to):

  • Bulbs, stones, seals, gaskets, buttons, switches, toaster elements

  • Limescale damage, corrosion, misuse, poor maintenance, unauthorised repairs

  • Faulty on-site electrics or installation by non-qualified individuals

Proof of professional installation may be required for any warranty claim, particularly for gas or electrical equipment.

Returns & Cancellations

  • Returns must be authorised with a returns number.

  • Unwanted items may incur up to a 30% restocking fee and must be unused, undamaged, and in original packaging.

  • Items unpacked or returned after 5 days may incur a 50% handling charge, subject to inspection.

  • Special order items and goods made to specification are non-returnable.

  • Refunds are only issued under the terms defined above and do not cover original or return shipping costs unless an error was made on our part.

Suitability & Specifications

Buyers are responsible for checking product dimensions, specifications, and access requirements prior to purchase. Goods are not sold on a trial basis. All sales are final.

Nordstar accepts no liability for:

  • Goods not fitting through access points

  • Incompatibility with existing infrastructure

  • Incorrect product choice by the buyer

Product descriptions and images are for guidance only. We reserve the right to amend specifications without notice.

Limitation of Liability

We exclude all implied warranties, including fitness for purpose, as permitted under the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977. Our liability is limited to the value of the goods purchased and excludes any indirect or consequential loss, including:

  • Loss of profits

  • Business interruption

  • Loss of data or perishable items

  • Staff costs

  • Equipment rental or third-party expenses

Intellectual Property

All content on www.nordstar.ie including text, images, design, trademarks, and logos is the intellectual property of Nordstar and may not be copied, reused, or distributed without written permission.

Data Protection & Privacy

We take your privacy seriously. For full details, please refer to our Privacy Policy. By placing an order, you consent to the use of your data for processing and communication related to your order. We may use your information to contact you about future offers or product updates. You can opt out at any time by emailing sales@nordstar.ie.

Use of Website

By using our website, you agree not to:

  • Copy, scrape, or republish any content without consent

  • Attempt to disrupt or damage the website

  • Use automated bots for data extraction
    Any unauthorised use will be pursued under applicable intellectual property and cybersecurity laws.

Jurisdiction

All contracts and disputes shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Northern Ireland. Any legal proceedings must be brought within the courts of Northern Ireland.
